The Beckley Area Foundation manages over 130 scholarship funds established
by individuals, firms and organizations desiring to assist WV residents in obtaining a college education. Each scholarship
application has specific eligibility criteria defined by the donor when the fund was established. To access individual

Scholarship
applications for Fall 2010 - Spring 2011 school year will be accepted beginning March 2010 and must be submitted
by April 1, 2010.
General criteria that apply to
most funds include:
Must be a WV resident
Must be a full time student (12 hours minimum)
Must demonstrate academic achievement (at least 2.5), unless otherwise specified by a particular
fund

Wilcox Scholarship Deadline March 1, 2010
The new John L and Virginia Wilcox Scholarship provides
scholarship assistance to families needing help with tuition to attend: 1) a Christian school (K-12); 2)
Christian-based home school or private Christian school graduates seeking further education; 3) secondary school graduates desiring
to attend a Christian college/university; 4) older students wishing to pursue further training/education. Use
Wilcox application available at BAF office or contact Betty Day at 304-466-3430.
